welcome home

Two weekends ago Hardin-Simmons celebrated homecoming, Stars of the West. Although homecoming week was filled with many meetings and a lot of work, as the time arrived I remembered everything else that came with homecoming; my amazing friends, the football game and lots of fun!

Because I am terrible about posting pictures, please forgive me for posting these pictures 2 weeks late.

P.S. I HEART HSU!

God is great

I had the most wonderful experience this past weekend attending a baby shower for some dear friends of ours, Stacy and Paula McGrew. Stacy and Paula have been waiting for the phone call telling them that they have a baby and that they are parents. After years of trying to have a baby on their own they turned to adoption.

I could not think of two people more deserving of a child, two people who have more love to give a baby then these two. We were blessed when they came into our lives several years ago and so grateful for their loving friendship. Two weeks ago tomorrow they were told they had a 5 week old little girl waiting for them in Ft. Worth.

I got to meet Lauren Kate at her Meet the World Shower this weekend and she is beautiful and every bit of precious! Every gift, smile and hug that weekend paled in comparission to the love and blessings she brought to her families.

I don't know how hard it is to be told you can't have a baby or you have to wait to adopt a child, but I do know how incredably gorgeous that little life is. The Lord works wonders in each of our lives and I am truly blessed by knowing them and many other friends and family who have gone through similar struggles. How great is our God!

and the vote is...

I know you are anxious to hear who my pick for president is.

I am giving my vote to McCain/Palin. Now, I know I am an influential member of society but don't do it. Don't vote based on my decision. Watch the debates. Hear the candidates and their views, vote for John McCain, vote red. I mean don't be biased just because me. Do the right thing... for our country.

I do my research. Not merely based on the media of course, those liberal, one-sided... You choose for yourself. As for me and I am sure my parents we are voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
