Good morning faithful readers. I hope you are all doing as great as I am. We had a busy and fun weekend in the Etter Household. Mom's family came to visit; the grandparents and my cousin Abby. Oh, Abby and I had a great time! (Vicki & Brutus, sorry you couldn't make it!)Our weekend was jammed packed full of learning. Seems like every time I see my cousins they teach me something cool. This weekend I learned how to chase, bark and attack squirrels. Abby is really good at attacking the squirrels. There was one in particular this weekend that we had our eye on. No luck catching him though... next time squirrel you are mine.

Abby also taught me how to point and wait for the squirrels. Although, I prefer to wait for them on the porch, maybe they will come to me. I got tired waiting around.
I also got in bed and slept with grandma Moonchie. I don't think she minded one bit, isn't everyone up at 5:30 in the morning on the weekend? I love it when she's around, she gives me her food, lets me sit on her and kiss her ears. Mom talks about my stinky breath, but if I had stinky breath I don't think Moonchie would let me kiss her. She's great!
Grandpa is cool, too. Last time he was in town we ran around the backyard and wrestled. He's pretty big and hard to take down but I accomplished it! Twice!
I was really sad when everyone left on Sunday. They could have at least left me Abby. We are two peas in a pod, you know. She pretends she doesn't like me but I know she misses me a lot!

I mean, look at this face. Yes, I know I am photogenic but how cute am I? Who wouldn't love and want to stay with me forever. Come back Abby, grandma and grandpa!!!
Now, don't think I just had fun this weekend. I got a lot accomplished. Like I said above I learned new tricks and I did yard work with dad. Do you know how tiring that is? Isn't not easy making my yard look good, but I did it. I was so good mom gave me like a huge bone.

And I surprised mom this morning and let her onto my genius. As if she didn't already know. I pulled and placed my bed into the living room so I could be more comfortable. Mom usually does this for me every morning and I help her by pulling my bed down the hall, but for some reason she didn't this morning. Grrrr. So I got up and did it myself. I pulled my bed down the hall through the entry way, which was tricky because my bed is big. But I just turned it sideways, placed my bed down and took a break. I was exhausted.
It's hard being cute, smart and a genius. But I pull it off well, don't you think?
No. This is not Romulus. And no, I am not going to write about Romulus today. Sorry!
We have come to the conclusion (check my Facebook status) that our dog is more popular than we are. Yes, we know he is much more amusing than the other 2/3 of the Etters, but come on. We are the people that brought him into the world! Well, into the Meander House! (Reminder: come up with a better name for our lovely abode)
He is so much more admired, loved and adored that my family no longer asks about me when they or I call. The conversations revolve around the grand-dog, his daily schedule and if he can talk on the phone. Which he obliges to. He knows how to pose for a picture and he has learned how to not listen to us like a good dog should.
Rom is so popular that his Aunt Sarah is an avid reader and pulls up his blog in class every day. Shout out to Aunt Sarah and her students in Magnolia!
Have you noticed that yes, I did end up writing about Romulus? And today I am going home to play with Romy.
I am not going to lie though I like the attention we get from having an abnormally large and utterly huge dog. When we walk him around the neighborhood I purposefully watch people's faces, they automatically smile or their jaws drop. I wonder if Romulus knows that he makes people happy. How neat is that? He is a goofy dog and never fails to make us laugh... never! The only intimidating thing about him is his bark and maybe his breath. Other than that he would love to give you a hug. Come on over!
A big, hairy Romulus hug!
P.S. To represent the other two-thirds of us (like I said I was going to do) Mitchell is going to be on the news tomorrow, KRBC (cable channel 5), 10pm for being the best band director their ever was.
Ummm well, let me re-phrase that. Three of the 4 music teachers at Madison Middle School are HSU graduates and he is one of them and KRBC is doing a story on them. You know, because that is cool, and HSU is awesome and so is the band director. And he is incredibly good looking! Did I mention he is the best... and he belongs to me :)
Make sure you watch, if you can't I will be taping it for you!
To my adoring fans. I am sorry I have been away for so long. I have been through so much in such a short amount of time, and quite frankly I think I am suffering from post traumatic, missing a part of my body-syndrome. Yes, this is a real recently diagnosed problem from my vet, Dr. Allen. I highly recommend him, I will forward his number if necessary.
A week ago today my parents took me on an early morning car ride much to my surprise. I was happy, elated and you know, tongue sticking out of mouth ecstatic. We arrived at Dr. Allen's office, I was suspicious at first, but my hesitations went way. Like I said I like Dr. Allen. But I quickly remembered previous conversations with mom and dad:
Mom/Dad: "Rom, your *expletives* are showing, bumble bee tuna!"
Romulus: *Weird, questioning look*
... another conversation
Mom/Dad: "Rom, soon your *expletives* won't be showing, bumble bee tune!"
Romulus: *Sad look. Then I begin to look below my tail, and proceed to get yelled at!
So, they LEFT me there for the day! They didn't come back until, well I don't tell time because you know I'm a dog. But it was a long time, past two meal times. All I know was I felt funny and I was hungry. And weird thing was that I was walking stiff. Later I was missing two very important parts of my exterior anatomy - if you know what I mean.
Mom and Dad thought that would settle me down, they've got another thing coming. My bark is louder, the holes in the backyard are bigger and I have sat on mom a few times. She is awfully comfy!
Shows them!
