organic co-op

organic eaters raise your hands! (this mama raises her hand HIGH!)

i've always loved organic. always eaten whole wheat, whole grain, mostly organic, and you can find me by the side of the road hugging a tree. i am from Austin after all. but since having my little love that has been taken to the extreeeeeeeeme.

now, i LOVE abilene. LOVE LOVE LOVE. and i LOVE west texas. but i don't love the selection of produce, food, etc. that we have here, but i make do with what we've got. luckily i do have a personal delivery service. direct from whole foods and central market austin, texas. it's a wonderful personal delivery service called Ramona Perez. aka Grammie. but when Grammie can't make it every other weekend we are in a bind.

i saw on facebook today that my friend in Brownwood is a member of a organic fruit/vegetable co-op. how insanely awesome is that?

is there anything like that here in abilene?

i know we have our farmer's market, but its not all organic. i need organic! (said the high maintenence, recyclying, tree loving, mama from Austin. and proud of it!)

help a mama out.

I don't know if there are others but I do know that one is just opening up- they will be ready to sell produce beginning in April and accepting applications, I think. Here is the link to their site http://www.grapevinefarms.us/

I don't know of anything like that in Abilene...and I looked it up on a coop directory to double check. :/

My Super Target in Denton actually carries a lot of organic produce...and it's a lot cheaper than the natural food stores so that's where I get a lot of mine. I really hope you find something!!

I was doing some more reading and I found this. Might be worth taking a look at.
