i am so fabulous!

Fabulous because EVERYONE says I look like Dancing With The Stars dancing sensation Cheryl Burke.

Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke

Abilene's own Amanda Etter

I wish I could just dance like her! How amazing would that be. Now, you may think I am coordinated and can dance because I was on my college dance team... because I was once the captain. Oh, no I am coordinated for like 2 minutes at a time. Last time I tried to spin and dance like that in formal gown the straps of my dress snapped off.

Don't ask for details. It was really funny though - I promise!

how-to

I am so busy every single day, you know. But in my busy schedule I find time to have a hearty breakfast and have fun. Because I am amazing...

This is how I eat a pecan...

On the front porch...

Every single morning!

And then I do something mischievous to remind everyone that I rule!

Like tear up my blanket...

To display my massive strength and shredding abilities.

Then, I need to get in my daily cardio so I run around like a banchie. Again, and again, and again!

And then again in the same spot so dad's lawn has no chance of growing in.

And then its nap time for about... 8 hours. Ahhh, I love my life!

psalm 23

Last night at dinner Mitchell and I were discussing the course of our day as usual. As I am chomping away at my salad which wasn't very yummy (sorry Outback your new Spinach Cobb salad wasn't a hit... I know my Cobb salads) Mitchell was discussing the whoa's of working with middle schoolers and his daily stresses. I admit I wasn't completely paying attention as the next conversation ensues.

My Music Man (completely serious): "Throughout the day I have found that I start quoting scripture."

Me: "Oh, that's nice hunny."

*more picking of the salad continues*

Music Man: "Everyday. While my students are driving me crazy I quote Psalm 23. 'The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want...'"

*Mitchell continues to recite Psalm 23*

Me: "So you only resort to scripture because your student drive you crazy, not because you find comfort in it?"

Music Man: "Even I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil..."

*I start to laugh... histerically*

Music Man: "No, really. That is my favorite scripture."

Me: "Well, I am glad. And I am glad you are quoting scripture through the day."

Music Man: "... and I will dwell in the house of The Lord forever."

this is a beautiful ad...

I saw this ad in the October issue of Texas Monthly and was reminded of it as I read a friend's blog.

If we could have this much freedom and non-conformity with each of our designs we would... wait. Wake up. We don't work for a liquor company. What was I thinking, our clients aren't alcoholics. But only if they were.

And yes, Canadian Club did trademark that remarkably genius phrase.

wonderful tonight

While the rest of the world was eating lunch today I was sitting next to my music man during the noon hour as he practiced the piano. In a few weeks Mitchell will play for Ryan McKee and Amanda Dodson's wedding and mentioned he would be practicing up at Clack today. I selfishly asked if I could sit in on his practice time.

This was a regular occurrence while we were in school here at the 40 Acres while we were dating. Mitchell would be in his practice room on the 2nd floor of Hemphill and I would find my space in the corner of the small, cold room. Slowly I would ease my way to the piano bench, and as his practicing time would end, my music man would pull out his Elton John or Eric Clapton. Here is where my heart would swell as Mitchell would play and sing to me. These were the times that I would forget about the everything around us and get lost in the songs he would play for me.

For a split second this afternoon I forgot I was in the choir room at Clack Middle School and was surrounded by Mitchell's rough yet incredably effotless voice as he sang to me.

I know you wish you had a husband that could sing and play piano for you! I love my hunny!
