I am thinking I need to come up with a "this will do for now" name for our baby. Baby Etter, Pod and whatever size the baby is this week really isn't working.
One suggestion was Remus.
Another Teletubby.
And a friend just suggested Jefferely for the name of the baby. Hmmmm...
I am thinking I am going to go with Booger or Booger Jr. or Little Booger. Gender neutral and obviously has its father's traits.

billy... i mean bob
When you do not hire someone for a position in your office, do you have to give them a reason?
Probably not. I did though.
And you probably shouldn't call them by the name of the person you did hire when they pick up the phone.
Yea, I did that. All in one 60 second phone call.
I am pretty sure I just crushed "Bob"!
*The actual names in the story have been changed to protect the victims of my stupidity. Well, except for the person who did get the job. They don't think I'm stupid.

you sort of suck
How do you tell someone they aren't doing a good job - and that they sort of suck?
You start off with a compliment like, "You have really nice teeth!"
Then you let them know how it is, "Thanks, we are grateful for the work you completed here. I am glad you completed your __________ ."
How do you tell someone you don't want them back?
Tell a HUGE white lie, "I don't think we are going to be filling that position. I will (I really won't) call you if we do!"
I don't like doing this. This whole tell the truth thing is overrated!

nightmare
I had a dream last night that I went into labor.
We took off for the hospital and I realized I wasn't wearing any make up or didn't bring my makeup bag.
I made Mitchell turn around and go home. But we never made it to the house.
I begged him to take me to the store just for eyeliner and blush. The store was out.
And then I woke up. I am sure once I do go into labor, makeup will be the last thing on my mind!

Who here thinks taking all fine arts and extracurricular activities away from students is a good idea?
Raise your hands.
You're an idiot.

you are treasured
Our little baby has already received a few gift from dear friends and family. It's so exciting to think that our baby will be enjoying them in a few short months.
This is from a set of onsies that we got to give your your grandmothers as a present to let them know you were on your way!
This is from your SuSu. I need to put our first picture of you in there!
This is from Jeff and Kimberely (Macy, Ellie and Cullen, too)! Your first official HSU t-shirt! I'm not being biased or anything, but I'm thinking this is going to be your favorite shirt!
Kimberely suggested a great name for you: Jefferely. We might have to think about that one!
This is from your Aunt Vicki. I think she has good taste, don't you?
These are from sweet Aimee and her mom Laura. You are a blessed baby!
This one is from your daddy and me. I sleep with it every night and hold it until I have you in my arms to kiss and love on!
Now, for some reason Romulus thinks it his and has stolen it a few times. You might be in competition with him when you get here!
These are the wonderful books you have alreday received. Goodnight Moon is from your daddy and me. Your daddy likes to read it to you almost everynight.
The Dr. Seuss book is from your friend, Stone and his mommy and daddy. We will be reading that to you all the time!
The last book is from your SuSu. You got that for Christmas a few years ago before we even knew you were on your way. It's a verse book for every letter of the alphabet. This way we can learn about our Father and Savior and read of all the wonderful things he does for us.
How special you are already to recieve so many gifts!

i love grapes
See that? Our little blessing (Pod Etter as my love calls it) is about the size of a grape right now. Isn't that amazing. I have a grape with a heartbeat in my tummy. And that grape isn't even an ounce! Our baby now has ears too, as of last week which is great. They can hear everything we are saying to it. Including when Mitchell reads Goodnight Moon every night to us. I probably need to be careful of the music I listen to now. I doubt Britney Spears is the best musical choice for our little grape.
But I know our baby is going to have great musical taste, though. Our little grape has already been to 2 musical performances. We went to the Philharmonic 2 weeks ago and last week we went to an Abilene Chamber Players performance. But this weekend is the biggest concert yet, Dave Matthews. What's not to love? Awesome lyrics and melodies and an array of musical instruments. Let's hope that violin has the biggest impact on our little grape's ears.
I doubt this is the last concert we go to before the baby is born. I really need to get a country concert in there somewhere!
Keep growing my baby grape. Love you so very much!

our house is now a home
Our lives are so completely filled with joy and happiness! I have a little heart beat and a little blessing growing in my tummy.A blessing to call our own.
A blessing to shower our love upon.
A blessing that is the perfect creation of His own.
And our house is now finally a home.
Praise you Lord for this little creation. Praise you Lord for your grace. We praise your holy name!

sally was stolen. almost.
Imagine this.
Salvador's (my co-worker) scooter was almost just stolen out of the parking lot. Right behind our building.
A truck just backed into the corner of the lot where Sal's scooter was parked and loaded it into their truck. Which was full of other stolen equipment.
Luckily Scott saw this episode, and Sal RAN out of the office yelling, "Hey, hey, hey!"
Just like that.
I looked out of my window and there was Sal. Pulling his scooter Sally out of that man and woman's truck.
We run outside and the man is pulling away, without his co-thief. She had to run after the truck and get it.
It was the funniest thing I have witness in my life. Except for the whole stolen scooter, thief part. But in the end Salvador prevailed.
I am glad he's quick. If not, he'd be walking home tonight!

I just found a recipe for this quiche on the Pioneer Women's website.Tell me that doesn't look deeeeelish! Seriously, I'm not even hungry, but wait. Now I am. My mouth is watering and I suddenly have the desire to put on an apron and cook.
Someone else can come clean the kitchen.

bliss
I have been truly blessed these past two weeks. We have had family staying to visit us for over one week and have had so much fun. My family was here for Easter, my brother stayed for a few extra days and them Mitchell's family was here for UIL.
Oh, and Mitchell and his TOP BAND made a ONE on stage. That is his first one ever as a band direction. But I'm not surprised.
And this week, this week is going to be the best week ever. I can't wait for Thursday!
Thank you Lord and Father for all the blessings in my life!

western heritage day
The week just keeps getting better and better!
Not only is this week a short week, tomorrow is my last day for the week and Western Heritage Day on campus. I LOVE WESTERN HERITAGE DAY!
Hardin-Simmons University (HS-HS-U-U!) started WHD 27 years ago to promote an appreciation for our western culture and the traditions of the Abilene area. And basically ever grade schooler (and even young kids not in school yet) in the region comes to campus to learn about our western heritage. We rope cattle, see animals, eat beans and corn bread and get an awesome badge that says "HSU Posse."

So, if you have a child, feel free to come up to campus. It is SO SUPER fun and you don't want to miss it! And I will be there working all day :)

I love Facebook. I really do and I seriously think it's a problem. A good one though. So much, that I get to do actual work on Facebook, everyday.
How fabulous is that? It's part of my job.
So, not only do I blog stalk people, but I Facebook stalk them. Pictures, status updates, wall posts. It's like being with someone 24/7 without seeing them. Terrible, I know! Tell me, are you as obsessed as I am?
Now... go and update your status people!
abigail is famous
My cousin Abigail Joy was on Good Morning America this morning and I just couldn't believe it. I stared at the TV, pacing around the house and was wondering why she didn't talk to me. Then I realized...
It was an impostor on the TV that looks exactly like Abbie!
The crazy part of this story, where I finally figured out it wasn't Abbie is when the GMA story started saying these pets were VEGAN PETS! Who would do that to their poor pet. Deprive them of lovely, rich, nutrient filled meat? Those sad, sad pets who will never have the luxury of eating meat, pork, chicken, POT ROAST! (that's what is for dinner tonight, I can't wait. I seriously can smell it cooking in the house now. As we speak)
I know Abbie would never give up meat and neither would I. Whew, I thought Abbie did a 180 on me.
In case you did catch the story on Good Morning America, you can see Abbie here. She is much cuter than those dogs anyway.

go cardinal band!
Last night Mitchell had his pre-UIL concert with his bands; Concert and symphonic. Later this month he will take both bands to concert on April 17th. This will be his first trip to UIL contest as a head band director and he will be taking two bands! I am so excited for him!Their pre-UIL concert went great and both bands performed very well. For alot of his kids in the second band this was their first official "practice" run through for contest, and you could tell. They were excited, nervous and all over the place. But over all they did great.
Both bands even had a sight reading practice and recieved a score.
I am SO EXCITED and PROUD of Mitchell and I know over the next 2 1/2 weeks they will practice even harder than they have and be UBER ready for contest April 17th!
GO CLACK CARDINAL BAND!
